One very unpredictable element of supply chain distribution involves the timing of deliveries. Although trucking companies strive to accurately synch their deliveries up to their receivers’ schedule, in actual practice this proves to be very difficult. Whether due to labor shortages, truck breakdowns, or simple miscommunication, there are a variety of factors that can cause one to miss their delivery appointment. Rather than paying exorbitant detention fees or potentially missing a reload, we are able to provide an alternative destination for your product until better conditions arise to complete said delivery.
Another practical application of this service can be found on the distribution side. It is a well know fact that paying for a full truckload is generally much cheaper to move per pallet than attempting to LTL individual pieces. If one has a semi regular customer in the Raleigh region that either does not have the warehouse space or does not have the desire to take in a full truckload worth of product, it may be more cost effective to utilize a 3rd party warehouse to facilitate delivery than to pay a premium for unused truck space.
